I've been struggling with this problem for some time. I’ve tried to update all of the drivers from Dell’s Website and they all seem to be up to date. Same with their diagnostics, nothing turns up.
I’ve got a Dell Pentium 4 3.06 GHz, Optiplex GX520 running Win 7, Version 6.1 with 4 MG of RAM. The Display Adapter is listed as a Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family.
The problem is that it generally runs very slow. Maybe like an old 386 MHz. My most used program is a 2 GIG MS Access database that seems to run OK. The problem is most prevalent in Internet Explorer (just upgraded to IE 9 with no change) and the worst is Windows Live Mail (which I’ve had to quit using).
All of the other programs seem to run fine even with either of these two open. But when I try to move the mouse over either of them it skips and drags and any action takes forever to get a response. Also, if I move either window (IE or Win Live Mail) I get a lot of tails. I think that’s the right term.
I just bought a new Samsung Monitor thinking that might help but it didn’t.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thank you very much,
Pepper
