I'm hoping someone can help. I'm trying to download factory software that originally shipped with my machine since I had to wipe my machine. It wants to detect my service tag and needs to install "dellsystemdetect.application". I download it and run it and it just gives me a message that .Net framework 4 (or compatible .Net) is needed. .Net 4 is installed on my machine already. I uninstalled and reinstalled .Net 4 AND ran a repair after it failed again.
This is happening on THREE different Dell machines (I have four in my house - I didn't bother with the last one) so it's not the machine. I need to register the specific machine I rebuilt in order to get that software. I simply tried the other machines to prove it is an issue with the application. Anyone know a way around this? It's very frustrating.
