Boot loop after RAM upgrade on Studio XPS 8100

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade the RAM on my studio XPS and i'm having issues. Originally there was 4G ram (2x2 elpina 1333mhz DDR3) and i wanted to add another 8 so i bought some Kingston RAM (KHX1333c9d3b1k2/8G). When i use all 4 sticks (original ram in 1 and 2, khx in 3 and 4) my computer enters an endless reboot loop when booting up, i have about 10-15 seconds of "useable" time, i can get into the BIOS and saw really fast that it did indeed recognize 12G of RAM but it reboots over and over again before even seeing the windows splash screen (it reboots when i'm in the BIOS,etc). If i use only the new ram  the computer freezes at the Dell splashscreen at about 25% load. Booting up with just the old RAM works just fine. I updated my motherboard's BIOS to A05, no change. I was thinking about reseting the CMOS but i don't think it'd help any as it works fine with the old RAM

I'm starting to think this memory is defect, anyone see something i might have overlooked ? both RAM are the same speed, same clock, same voltage.
