you can go to dell support and type in the service tag # on your dell pc or pick your pc from a list of dell makes and models. You can then go to manuals and user guides and download docujmentation. also, i have found alot of documentatuion just plugging search engines like google and ask. Both the manual and user guide should tell you what you need to know. Basically, you just have to move some wires away from the Fan shroud so you can remove it - the case opens by pulling on the piece on the top rear, back of the case where you can put a pad lock. This will cause the right side of the case to pop out from the top. The fan shroud is removed by pressing on the plastic tabs that hlod it in place. Then removing the two screws that hold the heat sink and fan that are closest to the edge of the motherboard, the rest of the heat sink and fan will pivot from the part held on by the other two scews - so lifting up from the edge toward the center will pivot the assembly on remaining two screws until it detaches. This will expose the cpuin its socket. When you're ready to replace everything you will need to wipe all the spent thermal paste from the cpu and heat sink and apply and new thin, even layer before reassembling.
