Re: Studio 540s won't power up

My troubles actually continued, and persist today.  The repair only lasted a couple weeks, then the same problems came back.  Seems like they can't get a good power supply, but I'm uncertain.  They replaced almost all the insides once or twice and never revived it.  They gave up and shipped me a computer of their choosing. A refurb XPS 8300.  Nice enough computer, but it is a tower only.  I need to lay it flat, but the trapezoidal front bezel doesn't allow this.  It flares out at the bottom, and the box wobbles on its side.  Also unclear if convection thermals of this design are ok for this orientation might be bad.  There's cosmetic issues doing this too. The  bottom is exposed, unpainted.  The computer is also white, which looks odd in on my AB shelf.  I emailed my objections, and they gave me an XPS sales number ?!?  What am I supposed to do?  Phone's were closed.  I chatted with sales, and they recommended an XPS 3500.  I said I don't see feet on the side for desktop configuration.  They later said, only Precision can do that.  So I'm not sure what's going on.  All I know, is I've been without a working computer for months and months.  What they sent me doesn't work for me.  I think its reasonable to ask for a desktop to replace my desktop.
