What version of Windows? Are you using an account with Administrator privileges?

Did you get any error messages when you tried to install the chipset?

You might try installing it again, after rebooting in Safe Mode. Then reboot normally after it's installed.

If that doesn't help and this just happened, a System Restore to latest date available when you know it was ok, may fix the problem. Personal files will be ok, but you will have to reinstall any software updates and hotfixes originally installed after the date used for the restore.

This is a new system. I just installed the os.
