Re: XPS 8500 memory

Thanks DELL USER! Could you please verify that your Crucial memory (installed 32 GB - no mix and match) is running at 1600 MHZ by looking in your Bios or using CPUID?  I assume the product you got from Crucial is this:

www.crucial.com/.../mpartspecs.aspx

I have found a cheaper product by KOMPUTERBAY with the same specs.  (125/130 bucks for 32GB on EBAY and slightly more on AMAZON).  I wonder if anyone has experience with that.

Again, as per KINGSTON support - my Kinsgston HyperX memory will only run at 1333mhz, because again, it is the default and dell bios cannot change the timing.  So no update will do it, because the Kingston RAM thinks it is 1333, unless the bios tell it to be 1600.  :/

I have had 32GB running at my machine, but it runs at 1333 MHZ.  I understand I will probably not notice much or any difference, but I am planning to get solid states soon and stream very intensive RAM samples for music production.. It might make a difference.. Or perhaps I just want to have everything best this time around!
