A few weeks ago I called our Cable Company because our wireless Internet went down and landlines. They came out on Sunday two days later and replaced the modem. After the tech synced all the computers to the new modem They worked fine and then about 20 minutes after he left all the wireless connections went down. I called Cable Company and asked for the tech to come back out in the mean time the Cable Company tech called and said it's my laptop problem and he didn't come out. I called Cable Company to tell them that it was not the laptop problem that I needed the tech to come out they assured me that he would and I waited around forever and he never showed up. For 2 1/2 weeks I fought with Cable Company about having a tech come out here they finally came out the tech said that it is my computers problem that the wireless connection is working fine. The wireless connection was in a cabinet that it had been in four years and we've never had a problem with the wireless connection. During the two and half weeks I have been able to get intermittent connection to my laptop only because the desktop died during all of this mess. When he came out he pulled the modem out of the cabinet and said this is the problem shouldn't be in the cabinet we were able to get connectivity to the lap top and the two wireless phone devices. While he was on my laptop he was looking at video and the video would slow down or stop and then start going again he said the connectivity problem was with my laptop and not with the modem. After he left the Connectivity completely went out to the laptop so I had to get an Ethernet cable and hook it up so that I could get Internet. Do you know if my laptop would be the problem for intermittent and wireless connectivity or do you think it would be the modem? I am tired of fighting with Cable Company.
