Hey everyone. Got the xps 8700 yesterday. Today, it took a crap it looks like.
I have a old dell with XP. I partitioned the new computers HD and cloned the XP into the new computers HD. I played around on the windows 8, don't like it too much. Seems to be pretty crappy as far as ease of use. I mean I have to pull up 4 different menus just to get basic things where on XP, VISTA, or win 7 I could just click it and open it. lol
So here is the issue. Everything worked yesterday. XP partition ran fine and then this morning windows 8 need to update. I ran it.. then got this screen. (attached). So the thing is, I took the HD out plugged it into a External device to check to see what was going on. That update fully deleted the windows 8 partition and left the windows XP alone.
So now I am stuck with this screen. I have an old XP disc, old Win 7 disc and had a friends Win 8 disc. Nothing will boot from Disc. It won't even show me in the settings that "boot from" dvd rom/disc drive is available. Changed different information to try to boot from different things, nothing works. Just stuck with this screen. I have tried to put in a blank formatted drive. Nothing works. No bootable options. Called tech support, they have no idea what to do either.
This thing is 1 day old. 24 hours... And it's busted. Someone help? :/
