Can't get out of power save mode

I have a Dell OptiPlex GX620 Desktop Pentium 4 640/3.2GHz, OS - Windows XP PS2 with a Dell UltraSharp 1970FP Flat Panel monitor.

I set my computer to boot in Safe Mode so that I could run a virus scan and when I restarted my computer my monitor's power button briefly turns green and then amber.  It says that it is in power save mode, but nothing will get it out of power save mode.  I've tried pressing keys on the keyboard, moving my mouse, pushing the power button (which turns my computer off), ctrl+alt+delete, but I get nothing on my monitor.

Any suggestions??
