Chris, you can add me to the list of people experiencing this problem. I just wasted several hours trying to get a Hauppauge WinTV-1800 to work in a PCIe slot to no avail, despite the fact that this very card worked in my Previous Dell (Dimension 9200). Despite installing the latest Windows 8 drivers and trying the card in all the PCIe slots, my Dell just didn't recognize the card.
I have had nothing but success with all the Dell desktop and laptops I've purchased over the years, and have always recommended Dell to anyone looking to purchase a computer, so am truly shocked that Dell is aware of this major problem and, despite all the time it has been identified, has chosen not to correct it; what on earth is happening at Dell to change their culture to one where they don't resolve quality problems of this type when they are brought to their attention - it's truly sad!
