Perhaps the lead from pin 5 to pin 9 is the issue?
I moved an XPS 8500 board into a Cooler Master N200 case and left that lead off, and there are no messages on boot. The pin assignments are the same as in kisianik's diagram; I have the power LED, HDD activity LED and power switch connected accordingly. I left the reset lead off.
