I have an Optiplex FX160 with some problems, especially at boot.
If plugged to AC outlet and turned on it gets stuck on diag leds 123 and wont't beep.
If I give a gentle whack on the chassis it wakes up and beeps, then boot will continue and machine works perfectly.
Same problem at shutdown: power led is blinking instead of OFF.
Restart command (eg. from Windows) results in the same behaviour, stuck on power led blinking and no restart by itself if no whack on the chassis.
If plugged for longtime to AC outlet it boots normally and flawlessly (capacitors?). Shutdown and restart behaviour remains weird.
I suspect it's a capacitor problem. Measuring PSU with a tester I get 12V and around on both lines, so maybe it's a mainboard component failure.
I checked mainboard solderings and capacitor integrity with no apparent defects.
Any suggestion?
