Progress but no resolution. I have updates BIAS from A09 to A10 to A11. No change in behaviour. I tried to start up in safe mode but having got to the Sign In stage Safe Mode appeared in top left and right hand corners, the timer circled and then I was thrown back to Sign in stage. So could not take this any further. I have however noticed some other strange behaviours 1) When I am copying files from the PC to a back up drive via the USB port If I ask it to do too much the PC reverts to start screen. 2) I have two accounts set up on this machine one for me and one for my wife; when I press photos icon the photo app opens as it should. When I do the same on my wife's account the photo App and in fact all apps show the icon screen and then return to main Win8 Start Screen. this gets more curious! I am now backing up all my beit slowly - who knows where this is going to lead.? Peter Fry
