Good mornin' to you,

I would try W8 on this but just can't afford it right now. Something way back in my mind gnaws at me that maybe I should have wiped this drive completely [dban, zeros only] before installing W7 this last time. It's a new 500gb WD drive but the installation before this last one supposedly had some corrupt files [per Microsoft]. I know we are told it's not necessary to wipe a drive if we do a new, full, clean installation; which I did. It's just something that is now nagging at me.

Also, I just switched to my VISTA HD on this and notice it also has lag coming out of sleep. Nothing as severe as W7 though; snaps out of it in about 2 minutes or less.
