1)
a) backup data on all drives you need to. Download raid drivers for SATA 'f6 floppy' on dell website or intel website. Download BIOS updates as well. Create your usb boot disk for windows 8 ( format usb as fat32, copy contents of iso or dvd to root of usb). Place SATA drivers unzipped to a folder on root of usb drive with windows files. make sure uefi boot is enabled in bios, disable legacy boot. PM me for win 7 instructions.

b) move 500gb drive from new dell B to dell A

c) on boot press ctr+I for intel raid setup or if creating a mirror skip this step and step d.

d) setup raid configuration, save and reboot.

e) insert usb drive, let win 8 setup load. when you get to disk drives choose to 'load driver', locate sata files on usb drive, select and click ok.

f) after windows install it should already be activated by BIOS activation. install BIOS updates, reboot, install windows updates, reboot, install Intel RST drivers

g) if you did not create mirror, bring up the RST utilitiy and add drive to create mirrored raid.

h) For dell B, if drives are intel raid and os is vista or newer, first backup data and then move both drives to the new system. setup bios to have sata set as Raid and make the drive first in the boot list. reboot, wait 5-10 minutes for drivers to get auto installed. install drivers and updates, reboot and activate windows vista or up if Retail or run the windows 8 upgrade procedure.

2) cloning is not needed, but hirens boot cd has free open source cloning tools.
