Setting up an Inspiron 660 with no internet connection

I am preparing to order an Inspiron 660 from Dell and a friend brought up an issue that may cause problems.  This particular computer will be in a place that has no connection to the internet and most likely never will.  My friend, who is an IT person, said he was installing windows 8 on a laptop and the installation required an internet connection to download files to complete the install.  This brought up the question of if I bought an Inspiron 660 and started it up in my home with no internet connection will the initial start up be able to take place or will it fail due to not having an internet connection.
