VIDEONTTT6HI,shesagordie, I have a DELL E521,WINXP,SP3,When my PC is starting up it shows the bios as 1.1.14 and most of the people that have posted on these forums show only bios of 1.1.1.
The other E521 i have i just brought ram up to 4GB,if i put in a 89watt CPU i understand that will bring my speed up to 3.0ghz.
I also put a GT610 video card in it as well so far the card is working whereas it was having a hissy fit in the other E521
just going to keep my fingers crossed that the problem with GT610 in first E521 was with that PC.
Yes, providing you install an AMD 6000+, 89W, 3.0Ghz, Windsor processor.
Prior to installing the processor, check that you have the latest BIOS version 1.1.11 installed, with BIOS version 1.1.4 support for AMD was added.
I have no idea why your machine is showing a BIOS version 1.1.14, the latest version Dell has published for the Dimension e521, is version 1.1.11
Dell did publish a BIOS version 1.1.4
