Re: Upgrading Inspiron 570

Arodnom

I don't mind the F2 thing - Good. I think it is F1, doesn't matter, something F has to be pressed.

Yes I have that same Centurion with the side air duct it has 4 screws and can be removed. The distance between screws is 3 inches.

This is about 76mm, ogh, very small, I don't think there is exact fan size to be mounted there - fans go in sizes 70mm, 80mm and larger, would you drill extra holes for at least 80mm fan, because 70mm are very noisy, bad thing. How about opening right below air duct, can you measure it in metric system, usually any measuring tape has 2 sides, one metric and another one in inches. This opening looks larger on the picture.

"Can you check this 80mm fan location, cant bigger fan be installed there, because 80mm is very weak.

Its very tight in the front I could not see how to get to it. It's a small fan.

I already found out, there is mount locations and opening only for 80mm fan, too bad. So the only places of interest are CPU cooler push fan, CPU cooler pull fan (fans mounted on the both sides of the cooler) and exhaust fan, those would have to be purchased new to be stronger!

I'll check in the morning about getting to it.

Thanks so much

So far your case is not that great for overclocking in terms of managing temperatures, so reaching my level of 4GHz would be menacing. Where do you live geographically, I live in Southern California so during summer I have to deal with scorching heat, and how about you?
