just to give you an update,
i wasnt able to access Dell 32bit diagnostic using F12,
had to download & burn to CD.
i was able to determine DIMM 1 was defective using the memory test.
(Correctable ECC Error, DIMM 1) WCMATS Test.
removed 2- 2gig DIMM's, leaving me with 12 GIG of Ram.
using the systemboard jumpers, was able to reset BIOS, also
replaced the Power supply.
System runs quiet now.
system passed the full Diag test, even hard drive & memory now.
if i stay in BIOS, or run system Diag,
System stays on.
When i try to install Windows system stil shuts down as before.
Passes memory test now.
tried using several different drives & several instalation DVD's.
Same Problem.
Tried inserting the original loaded Hard drive.
booted to Windows, but shut down after 2 minutes every time.
any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.
