The XPS 8100 was configured with Windows 7 64-bit, and I am assuming that is what you have.

There is likely no need to install drivers in a specific order; it has been said here that that was the case with early versions of Windows XP, but I have not seen that with Windows 7. You can get the chipset drivers from Intel's download site, via their online chipset software installation utility. Follow the links from the Support menu and install the ActiveX control.
