/hi, I recently bought a 2nd hand Dell optiplex 960, 12 gb, with an added soundcard for creative soundblaster equipment. I was using Adobe premiere pro trial version and couldn't shut down a function (Adobe bridge) The computor gave me a "force shut down" option which I took, when I tried to restart it again the optiplex logo comes, up all the numbers on the tower light up amber(for a second or so), then I am offered three start up options, safe mode, etc I have tried all of them and none of them work, all that occurs is that the screen shows black/blank but I can see the cursor. Previously it had shown me a return to default settings which I took, but now I can't seem to get anything to happen. I have run diagnostics but with no result. Though I have a rough theoretical knowledge in practical terms I'm a novice. As nothing comes up is it worth trying to re- install windows? my intent is to use the computer solely for film editing so I don't need anything except internet access, windows and an editingsoftware program. Any ideas on my next move
best wishes
Sandy
