Re: Inspiron 560 BIOS Features

Well, I was searching about a problem I'm having with the BIOS AC Power Recovery and I came across my own post!  The Inspiron 560 does (did?) indeed have this feature and I bought the PC in 2010.  But in the last couple of days the feature has stopped working....

I have the PC, and other devices, connected to a mains/AC timer that turns off early morning and back on again about 15 minutes later. The PC is set to AC Power Recovery ON and normally boots up when the power comes back on.  ( The PC will have been off before the timer removed the power.)

Yesterday the timer didn't work and nothing came on.  I reset and reconnected the timer but today when the timer came on the PC didn't.  After numerous changing of the BIOS AC Power Recover option back and forth and upgrading the BIOS to A06 it still doesn't work when set to ON, both when power is applied to the PC after it is normally shut down, or after the power is removed when it was running.  However, if AC Power Recovery is set to LAST then it boots up if the power had been removed during normal running.

I guess something has broken but I don't know what.  Has anyone any ideas or come across this before ?

Cheers

Stephen
