Re: XPS 8300 Will Not Boot

Are there any links to instructions for how to load new HDD to previous state? I had made Dell System Recovery disk set (two disks) when the PC was new. Do I simply mount new HDD in PC and then boot from this set? Will doing so restore ALL three partitions (FAT 16, Recovery, Win 7 primary) to original state? If yes, then I could follow up with a more recent image restore to the primary partition.

Alternatively, could I mount new HDD in a USB case attached to my laptop and restore all three partitions from a recent image using Seagate DiscWizard? Then, move the new HD to the desktop PC. Will the desktop boot properly?

A more direct route would have been to mount HDD in desktop and use Seagate DiscWizard recovery disk, but I have misplaced this disk. That is why I was proposing using my laptop to restore the DiscWizard image.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
