I upgraded this Dimension to Windows 7 and all went well in fact I received a message that Windows had finished copying all files to the computer. Then the screen went black (I know that this happens several times when upgrading to Win 7). I waited & waited & waited (like 45 minutes) and nothing ever happened. I then turned off the computer and attempted to boot up but now all I get is DELL, www.dell.com, Dimension 2400 Series, and the bar that usually turns white as the bios loads only loads about 1/4" and stops. (Under the bar I see "BIOS Revision A03)
All of the checking that I have done shows that this computer should be running Bios A05. I downloaded the Dell Bios A05 executeable file and made a USB DOS bootable USB Flash Drive with the Dell A05 Bios file on it also and first inserted it in the USB port in the front of the machine and nothing happened so I switched to the top USB on the back of the machine and still nothing.
I have also tried F2, F8, F12 to get into the Bios to try to make the machine boot from USB but no luck in getting into the boot secquence.
Any help will be appreciated! I have seen many diognostic programs from Dell but I am using another computer to message as the Dimension will not boot up.
HELP!
