With the careful guidance of members, rdunnill especially, I was able to FINALLY uninstall the Ethernet Controller on the Dimension 4600. Now I am not able to INSTALL Ethernet Controller. When I download the driver I get the "installed successfully" message but when I go into the device manager the Ethernet Controller is still marked with a question mark/exclamation point. I installed the drivers in order: Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, v.5.00.1012, A13; Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio, v.5.12.01.5246, A22; and the Intel 10/100 LOM, v.7.0.26.0, A06 . Do I need to install a modem driver or some other driver? I also noticed an Intel PRO/100 VE driver was present in the device manager before I installed any drivers as was an "other devices" driver." I did find the resource CD but have never used one. Been at this for a couple of days and I’m stumped!!! Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much!
