I have a Dell OptiPlex 740 which shows HAL 12 message(s) in Event Viewer. I updated BIOS from 2.2 to 2.7, and for (1) day that seemed to correct the error. The next day, however, the same error is back. A search for info on the matter indicates that the error would probably be corrected with the BIOS update. If it didn't contact the manufacturer of the firmware for resolution. Has anyone else had this problem, and could offer any tangible solution(s)?
Athlon 64x2 dual core 2.6GHz, 5000B, 2GB RAM 750HD 32bit OS.
