My trusted E520 after a few years has just stopped working. I switched It off the other night and when i went to switch it on in the morning i had a flashing amber light at the front of the tower. I opened it up and cleaned the dust out and saw an amber light inside the unit next to the clock which tells me that power is getting inside the unit, but after reading so many forums i think possibly it may be the PCU but i`m unsure. There is no beeping just that flashing amber light at the front. It wasnt really dirty inside.Still looks new. I`ve seen a few PCU`s on ebay but what if it isnt that. I could get one from Dell but again it may not be that. Does anyone have any idea how i can test the PCU before i waste money? I would appreciate a step by step guide on what to do. Pref in english please?
