Well I've had my dell pc for 15 months now, 3 months out of the warranty- and low and behold it starts freezing up and giving us a black screen. We tried everything in this monster forum, reinstalling drivers, uninstalling windows update, etc...nothing worked.
Finally we decided to simply reinstall windows. I put a NEW 1 tb hard drive into the pc, and removed the old one to save the files. I made it half way through the windows install when them monitor blanked out. I think we can safely say it's not a driver issue.
Seeing as this is out of warranty, can anyone confirm which part it is (IE, ram? video card?). Or, is it possible to extend dells warranty? I bought dell because I thought it would be more reliable than a department store pc... I feel ripped off :(
