Presently I have a 2 TB array of four SSDs that serves as my boot volume (drive C:). This works very well, and so in the "if a little is good then more is better" vein I'm considering adding more SSDs and upping the volume size to 4 TB.
I confess to not even knowing enough to be dangerous yet. This is the sum of it: MBR maxes out at 2 TB, and I believe GPT partitioning is required to go larger. But it seems there are other considerations - something to do with having the BIOS be EFI-compliant - to making a bigger volume bootable.
Have you gone through making a bigger than 2 TB boot volume on a T5500 system, and if so, can you please list the steps or post a link to a guide?
Thanks.
