The diagnostics section in step 1 came out all ok. Nothing found.
In steps 2 and 3,F8 didn't do anything upon boot up...so I could not follow those steps. But, in fact the computer is working fine. There are no problems at all with operation, win 7, home premium, 64bit.
The only real issue is the noise coming from the tower.... sounds like the hard drive. Or maybe it is the fan!? Are there diagnostics to run to check on the fan?
So, if I want to be proactive and get a new hard drive, what do I need to do to save or backup everything, so I can reload the new hard drive and have everything work the same?
