Hello,
Please somebody help me to recover my computer. My Recovery Media could not help.
I purchased my XPS 8500 (Windows 8 64 bit, 2 TB Hard Drive, 32 GB SSD, i7-3770…) from DELL. I use it for five weeks.
Several times it couldn’t wake up from the sleeping mode.
Since yesterday it could not boot.
This text message was on a black screen:
“No boot device available. Strike the F1 key to retry boot, F2 to run the setup utility.
SATA 0: Installed
SATA 1: Installed
SATA 2: None
SATA 3: None
MSATA1: Installed”
It couldn’t boot using the F1 key.
I run the Setup Utility to reset the BIOS to Default Values using the F9 key.
After this procedure the previous error message on the black screen is not shown anymore, but I got a new message on a blue screen:
“RECOVERY. Your PC couldn’t start properly after multiple tries the operating system on your PC failed to start, so it needs to be repaired. Error code: 0xc0000001 You’ll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don’t have any installation media (like a disc or USB device). Contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer”
I tried the Safe Mode from the Startup Setting. No result.
I have Recovery Media, creating it on 4 DVDs before.
The boot menu loaded using the F12 key and I selected UEFI: PLDS DVD…..
The boot was successfully from the DVD and the Dell Backup and Recovery screen appeared. I followed its instructions.
The Recovery Media could not reinstall the operating system.
The warning message is:
“Restore your computer. Your hard drive size is not supported for this process. Please use a hard drive at least GB in size.”
I had to quit using the Finish button.
Thank you in advance for any help.
