XPS 8100 won't start and no beep

Hi,

I have an XPS 8100 purchased in Feb-2010 and it doesn't start. There is no beep, the fans (power supply and chassis) do not even turn on.

I have checked the power supply, works fine (Green and Black wire and it works). I also tried another power supply that works properly in another computer.

I have checked:

  • CPU power:plugged in
  • Video card power: plugged in and card properly seated in slot
  • CPU fan: plugged in
  • Checked all the cables, they are ok.
  • Hard drives: plugged in and also checked them on another computer and I see all of the files.
  • There is brown LED on the motherboard that is on.

It started yesterday, Friday afternoon. I returned to the room/office the screen was black (but I did set the screen saver) and when moving the mouse, nothing happened.

  • The power button on top of the xps 8110 was flashing white
  • I unplugged the the power cord, 1/2 hour later, and replugged it in: the power button on top then started flashing amber.
  • Now, Saturday, it doesn't flash or nothing.

It doesn't even get to the boot stage, no beep, nothing. Even the fan on the power supply doesn't turn on, when connected to the motherboard through the P1 (the 23 pins) connector.

Any suggestion?

Thank you
