hello,
not new to the forum, but rarely post.
I am having some troubles deciding on a system for myself. I am a computer tech by trade and my own personal computers usually end up being something that I come by cheap, then upgrade to make suitable. I am currently using an XPS 410 that I have heavily upgraded. However in an ordering mishap I have ended up with the main core components (barebone system with processor) to a Studio XPS 7100. My question to kick around is should I keep what I have (xps 410) or go ahead and upgrade to a model that is slightly newer. The 410 is flawless in performance, i'm able to game and do anything on it. I know that many say "why no go i7?" well, in my personal experience computer hardware is way ahead of software. In real world computing I can't tell much difference between this 5 year old machine and a brand new i7 system. I don't need a system to run benchmarks on, not to mention dump and incredible amount of money into. so i guess the question is what would you do? looking for opinions here. Either way the one not used will be ebayed. the specs on the systems are:
XPS 410
Core 2 Extreme QX6700
8gb DDR2-800 memory
256gb samsung SSD
Radeon HD5850
Studio XPS 7100
Phenom II x6 1090t
16gb ddr3
256gb ssd (will transfer from old system)
Radeon HD 5770
any advise would be appreciated
