Bought an XPS 8500 for my son and myself. Already had to replace my son's Hard Drive due to 8500 going into a 'system error recovery mode' every time it boot up. So far so good on that as it has been 3 weeks now with no errors.
My 8500 has randomly frozen 3 times but for most part, works good. No BSOD, just keyboard and mouse are unresponsive and I have to do turn 8500 off to clear this which obviously I don't like doing. My fear is that this will happen when I am doing something important. Have already ran h/w diagnostics with No fault found. Tried to run Fixit but it won't run on my 8500 as I get this 'invalid or expired' message when I repeatedly download it from Microsoft's website.
When it has locked, I'm just surfing the web with Firefox so it's not like I'm pushing the 8500 at all. So I'm wondering if there's something with FF or an add-on but not really sure. Any help or advice appreciated.
