Ok my 690 i have owned for a few months and recently it has decided to change its identity to a hovercraft, it use to be quite and occasionally under load would increase slightly. Now first thing in the morning it would start quite for 30 minutes but then away it would go 69% fan speed. It will slow sometimes but 95% of the time be so noisy that i cant here the TV. Ok i have tried the following.
1. Checked the intrusion switch and set bios to off.
2. Download every piece of software to show CPU temp but non of them will show CPU, i can see all the rest mem, graphics card , harddrive ETC but they are all ok, but they would be at the speed the fan is running,
3. Removed both heatsinks cleaned re-pasted them with high thermal conductivity paste and installed.Also same with GPU.
I have read where it is common for the heatsinks to fail but which one?? or both but at 40Gbp each its not cheap and are they really getting hot???
Is there anyway i can see the cpu temp? and what should they run at, guess 70C max?
